Do you have any recommendations on what I should read of Lovecraft? I love Edgar Allan Poe's writing, and I have a Complete Works anthology book of his. It's amazing. One of my favorite stories is the Black Cat.
I get a lot of my inspiration from Asimov and Bradbury, but also JJ Abrams, Joss Whedon, Charlie Kaufman, several musical artists (including Ben Folds, Regina Spektor, Arcade Fire, and The Shins) and masters of their craft such as George A Romero, Stephen King, and Kurt Vonnegut. I draw inspiration from everything around me, but very little does that translate into an actual idea. I mainly write stories with science fiction themes and themes of humanity and what humanity is capable of. I am simply not very good at coming up with an idea for stories after I am inspired and influenced by so many works.
You are a writer, right? I'd love to hear where you come up with your ideas! I have several sources of inspiration, but I'm interested to know what yours are.
