I'd be right in the same boat as the rest of you, to be honest. I'm not getting (or keeping) my hopes up that there will be a sequel because they really should have made one by now. However, once it comes out, I'll be watching it.

My thoughts? Super 8 is a prequel. The "thing" in the boxcar is an alien (Clover monster) at it's normal size. The entire movie will revolve around trying to capture the creature once it has escaped from the boxcar. Because of how much havoc it will bestow on everything, and because it's nearly indestructible, they decide that the best way to contain it is to freeze the thing and put it at the bottom of the ocean. What they don't count on is the fact that it lands on a bed of sea nectar and mutates. MUWAHAHAHAHA!

That's where the problem lies, CF.

JJ has projects out the wazoo (both film and television). And I don't know where Matt stands - he has Let Me In coming out in October and who knows after that.

I'm happy that the project is still a "priority", but if it was a priority the project would be next on their list.
